Quds Bank grants the civil defense a rescue and rapid intervention vehicle
Ramallah – 22/05/2014 – within its social responsibility throughout the current year, Quds Bank has granted today, via its General Manager SameehSbaih, a “rescue and rapid intervention” vehicle to the Palestinian civil defense in the presence and auspices of the governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. LaylaGhanam and the head of the civil defense, lieutenant colonel KhameesRizq.
Such had taken place at the headquarters of the Quds Bank General Management in Ramallah, and in the presence of the head of Al-Bireh Municipality, Ziad Al-Taweel; Managing Director of the Civil Defense, Lieutenant Colonel OdehYounes; Director of volunteers, Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Al-Masri; and a number of senior officers of the Civil Defense, and the Bank’s Executive Managementin addition to a number of legal entities.
Quds Bank General Manager, SameehSubaiah praised during his speech the efforts and the work of the Civil Defense in general, and especially during the bad weather conditions and the snow storm which hit the country and the following consequential damages, whilst emphasizing the humane role of Quds Bank and its social role in supporting all that which is related to the life of the Palestinian citizen, hence working on providing a dignified life for him / her.
In her turn, the governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. Ghanam, emphasized the importance of the private sector’s role in supporting the capacities of the government and non-government organizations as well as private organizations. She also thanked Quds Bank for this kind gesture and for their partnership with the Civil Defense to protect the lives and properties of the citizen and the nation.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel KhameesRizq, offered his gratitude and appreciation to the management and employees of Quds Bank for this gracious gesture and for offering their support in designing the vehicle as a gift for the Civil Defense, and which will work on saving time and effort for the firemen and rescue crews in centers positively reflecting on providing the best services to the citizens in each area. He also offered his gratitude and appreciation to the governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. LaylaGhanam for embracing all the work and activities of the Civil Defense.
Moreover, Director of Public Relations and Media Major,LouayBaniOdeh, talked about the role of organizations and companies in supplying the Civil Defense with resources and capacities available in the country, whilst emphasizing the keenness of the Civil Defense to maintain the safety of the people and protect their properties. BaniOdeh also added that this vehicle is one of 16 rescue and rapid intervention vehicles designed by the engineers of the Civil Defense, whereas the designs had been made in Palestinian manufactories with the support of local Palestinian organizations including Quds Bank.
This donation comes within a series of sponsorships and donations in which the Bank supports annually within a strategy aimed at bearing responsibility as a Palestinian banking organization towards the local community and in various aspects such as, economy, culture, sports, education and others, proceeding from its slogan “the citizen’s and nation’s bank”.
